A review of Canasta by Jennifer written on Monday 21st of September 2009
We have eaten in Canasta on a number of occasions. The food is excellent - all freshly prepared to order and although the menu has now been reduced in size it is supplemented by a specials board which changes frequently. It is also great to be able to see the kitchen and the chef at work - nothing is being hidden from view.
The wine list is pretty limited but the fact the place has a BYO license means you can enjoy a really decent bottle of wine and just pay corkage. If you are on a budget this is great.
Booking is advisable for Fridays and SAturdays as the restaurant is quite small.
The staff are friendly and helpful although at times can be a bit amateurish. I don't think that they detract from what is a decent place for a meal though..
