"Ear-splitting distraction in Cafe"

A review of Sainsbury's by T E Kelso written on Thursday 26th of November 2009

Our first visit to the new store at Braehead included a visit to the in-store cafe for a snack.(24th November)

Every time a member of the Cafe staff entered or left the kitchen area we were treated to what was literally an intolerable nerve-shattering banging of the relevant door. This was not an occasional occurrence but of the order of about every 15/20 seconds

The staff behind the Cafe counter were quite obviously oblivious to the incessant noise. We left before finishing our food! Surely, someone (in Management), is tasked with doing daily "rounds" of the shop floor during opening hours, to spot such unnecessary annoyances

Another problem, the outside stowage of trolleys is wide open to the prevailing wind AND rain Trolleys were soaked, and time had to be spent obtaining paper towels at Customer Services to dry same before loading clothes/groceries (You need to have rolls of paper towelling on hand, not the inadequate type held at Customer Services.

The remedy is simple -fit a patent "door-closer", cost from Screwfix about £30. .
