A review of Stow College by Gordon Ireland written on Friday 29th of January 2010
I was at stow college in 1945, I was there for 1yr it was great. We had half a day doing practical and half a day doing theory. The teachers were very good.I enjoyed the practical side of it. I learned a lot and used all I had learned at stow all my adult life, I would have done another yr no sweat When I left stow I started a painting and decorating apprenticship that took me 5yrs then it was into the RAF for 2yrs.I met some of the guys on different jobs it was good talking about our time at stow and the football team we started we were quite good, we used to play the teachers and beat them every time,I left Glasgow in 1954 and emigrated to NZ I am still here. I sent some of my certificates to the college they were starting a memorabilia hall. I thank you stow college for all your help. Regards Gordon Ireland. .
