A review of Drumoyne Primary School by William A. Melvin written on Monday 15th of February 2010
My family and I lived at the cottage on the grounds of the David Elder hospital. I attended Drumoyne school from 1948 through 1949. I still vividly remember my days there. My most vivid memory was getting the "strap" for coming into the class with muddy shoes. My little hands became swollen and hurt for quite a long time. Horrible thing to do to a 6 year old. I am sure things have changed in the past 60 odd years.
I noticed on the Google Earth satellite image the school still has a fence running down the middle of the playground. Are the boys and girls still separated during recess?.
