Some recommended advice :-
Keep OFF the phone to AIC.
They'll bully and badger to get their way, and despite what they tell you, YOU pay what YOU can afford, and YOU tell THEM what you can afford.
Communicate with them in writing only (that's important) and do not sign anything you send them.
If they can't communicate in writing, that's their problem.
If they call you, hang up - they've nothing constructive to say to you.
Plus, the fact still remains that AIC must still substantiate their legal right to collect - regardless of what kind of debt it is.
If they can't do this, then they have no business collecting it, or expecting you to pay.
Refer to the Consumer Action Group website, Debt Collection Industry section for the best way to go about your problem, plus more information on AIC and how they work - you'll find plenty.
You'll also find plenty of people there who'd like nothing better than to see AIC fail, its employees chucked on the dole, and the company consigned to history.
I'm only one of them..
