A review of Springboig St Johns School by The "Observer" written on Saturday 27th of March 2010
I’m assuming this “concerned” person’s comment is tongue in cheek. The problem with Robert Rae is that he does not contact his members to encourage them to support the teachers. Instead he encourages them to cross the teachers picket line. He says that the social care staff do not agree that this industrial action by the teachers is helpful and recognises they have responsibilities to the vulnerable young people resident at St. John’s. Is he implying that teachers do not care about the pupils? Why does he think the teachers are going out on strike? Let me make it clear to all those who are not sure or are being misled by management. Teachers want the redundancy notices lifted and the school to remain open as it provides a much needed service to all these “vulnerable young people” delivered by both the caring staff and teachers. This “concerned person" is right, because unless all staff get behind the teachers and support them we do have a future and that future will be redundancy..
