"Talking a load of bull"

A review of Springboig St Johns School by The "Observer" written on Saturday 17th of April 2010

In response to the "enthusiastic staff's" comments.

"New Education Establishment Planning for Excellence” was the headline. The observer response to this person is that you are having a laugh. You imply that the observer “should have been involved more” rather than being “so nosey” and the “end is nye for the old establishment and all who sailed in her” and “a crisp fresh, enthusiastic work force is the key for a provision of excellence.” Lets dissect their comments.

Why was the observer not “involved more rather than being so nosey”....hmm! were any staff approached to have a say in the future?. “A crisp fresh start, enthusiastic work force is the key for a provision of excellence”. I agree that a crisp fresh start is essential but to achieve this objective then the present management team have to go. This “enthusiastic staff” failed to mention this which indicates to me that their comments were from someone from the management team or someone who is very naive to what is going on around them. This “enthusiastic staff” goes on.... “enthusiastic work force is the key for a provision of excellence”. Does this person actually believe we have a enthusiastic workforce at present”? There are some good staff and some very good staff but there are others who are being allowed to think they are good and enthusiastic simply because they are not being challenged. Lets the observer be completely honest with all who read this. The observer wants the school to stay open. I believe there is a future for the school but if the present management team stay in place that will not happen. Yes, we need a new fresh work force brought in and the weaker staff need to be told to improve or they have to move on. All new or inexperience staff or weak staff need proper training and guidance from a strong management team to improve. It was a big mistake to allow David Taggart to leave and no more time should be wasted in asking him back. He is the only one who can take education forward. David Taggart was treated shoddily by management but it is not too late for them to redeem themselves and ask him back or at the very least ask him back on an advisory role. The present education team have just not got it and never will. What does Mr Duffy and Mr Breslin know about taking the school forward? I think these two only have only their own interest at heart. It is the observers' understanding that these two are involved with Stepdown and Grace Fletcher is a director of Stepdown which by coincidence features highly in the new plans to take the school forward....conflict of interest comes to mind. So please “enthusiastic staff” get real and address the facts and don’t talk a load of bull. .
