A review of Himalaya Tandoori by Anonymous written on Monday 19th of April 2010
Having previously left Himlaya due to slow delivery service we decided to go back for a meal on Saturday at 6.15pm. The waitress who greeted (well stared actually) us was obviously taken by surprise that we wanted a table. Being the only ones in we assumed that we would be served quickly. Starters - checken pakora and poppadums served quickly as were the drinks. Main courses followed quite quickly and we were asked just the once if everything was ok. The food itself was quite nice but I have had better elsewhere. The girls who run the business seem almost robotic and focus purely on those calling in person or on the phone for takeaways. We asked for the bill (by now there were 2 more people in) and eventually had to go to the counter and stand over them whilst they added up. The lack of any genuine warmth or acknowleding that you are a customer really did make an impact. I can only assume this restaurant is still going due mainly to the carry out side of things. Shame really as this was once the place to be in Cardonald. If it is as empty as it was all of the time I dont know why they dont get into the function side of things and give neighboroughing Quo Vadis a run for their money..
