A review of The Solid Rock Cafe by Anon. written on Wednesday 28th of April 2010
Excellent pub, you can request a good number of songs and almost everyone bar one bar man is very friendly. Only complaint is the price of beer going up but thats to be expected these days.
The new menu is also great and the food for a pub is of good quality. I'm told the duck wrap is good but I tend to stick to the burgers etc.
During the afternoon it is also good for a game of pool downstairs but on a busier weekend night forget about it. The TVs showing movies are enjoyable as well, I've seen a massive range of movies and shows from Tom and Jerry to Evil Dead to the Shawshank Redemption on (all subtitled obviously).
Also, on the night of a gig they usually do a good run of songs. When Slayer played Glasgow last time they stuck a full concert DVD on.
All in all a great little place unless you love rap and hate rock music, then you probably wouldn't like it but thats your own fault for walking into a rock bar in the first place..
