A review of Bellgrove Hotel by Marko written on Saturday 28th of August 2010
Being of the bottom rung of the social ladder of British Society, the ground being "living rough", or "skipperin'" as it's known, the word Hotel in it's name is to some residents a sortof fond to cheerful in-house humour, while to others, the attitude approaches dark irony. Amenities are basic but adequate - the rooms are small, with a sink, with little space for possessions without causing clutter. Three meals a day are provided. For the most part, it's kept tidy. A LOT of drinking (and spillages of bevvy, food, etc.) means the cleaning staff sometimes have a job on their hands. The staff are seasoned - they meet up with some strange stuff - it IS "The Bellgrove". They are capable, knowing (if things come to their attention) when and how to "put the foot down", becos with alchoholism and some drug addiction to contend with, it's sometimes simply necessary. I rate it "Cool!" cos I live there..
