A review of The Bothy Restaurant by Anonymous written on Sunday 10th of October 2010
I booked the Bothy for my husband and I for our first wedding anniversary and we had really taken our time to pick a good restuarant so we could enjoy our evening.
Our first experience was walking through the door and the front of house girl taking our names then walking away - not even asking us to follow!!! We were rather confused about that.
It took 15 mins before we had to ask someone to serve us and take a drinks order.
My meal was the mussels, which were plentiful but lukewarm and the garlic bread burnt. My main was the expensive (£23) steak which was a good cut of beef but was again lukewarm, I got a tiny tomato and tiny mushroom and sauce with skin on top so it had been sitting in the hot plate oh and not hand cut chips but wedges!
My husband got a lovely meal and enjoyed so maybe I picked the wrong things but my overall experience is that it's over priced, good quality food bit basic errors and lack of good service let's it all down.
I have written to the management for a response.
