A review of Holy Cross R C Primary School by John Mc Ginley written on Thursday 14th of October 2010
I attended Holy Cross, starting at the Infants school in Daisy street in Aug 1967, moving to Calder Stre in 1969, I can recall spending a year in the huts in Batson Street, I can't recall the reason for the move, but it was fun being away from the main building.
The teachers I can recall were Mrs Reevie eho I had during years primary 3 and 4, and Mrs O'Neil during the other three years.
Fellow pupils included Dennis Little, Jim Dykes, Brian Gillen Paul Philban, Patricia Cairns, Grace O'Brien, Anna Maria Zappa, Gail Williamson, and another 20 or so, who's names, I'm sorry but have forgotten.
I now live in India, after spending 10 years in the Royal Air Force, and 15 years as a police officer.
I'm writing this review as I watch the Commonwealth Games in India close, and I wonder what the future in four years time will bring to our great city.
Hopefully I will be in Glasgow in 2014, and possible visit the school that helped me build the foundations that have served me well in life.
Regards to all who read this article.
