A review of Scottish Daily Mail by Ron Sutherland written on Thursday 7th of June 2007
I would like to point out inaccuracies in your article
dated June 5th about chronic fatigue. It is not poorly
understood, which you would have known if you were aware of the excellent research being done in this country in Glasgow and Dundee university medical schools. In addition an international conference on M.E. and fibromyalgia was held in London and Edinburgh last month at which researchers and others from twelve different countries made outstanding contributions.Try contacting Dr.Vance Spence, Ninewells Dundee and he will give you a very complete view of what ME is all about, never mind the USA! The drugs you mention are not new and have been used here
long ago. I ought to know! I've had M.E. and FMS for twenty-odd years.I think the press is often guilty of
misrepresenting the truth and putting ideas into peoples heads, especially those who haven't the wit to
distinguish genuine information and sensationalism.
Please contact the researchers here in Scotland, at
Dundee university and that of Strathclyde and Caledonia, Glasgow. Then, of course, there's always me. Sincerely, Ron Sutherland 2 Murray Place, Tain
