A review of Princess Royal Maternity Hospital by Anon written on Monday 31st of January 2011
I had a midwife with me for the whole labour. I went into labour at 5pm in the evening. I arrived at 11pm and was examined by a lovely student midwife who made me feel very safe. I was 4 cm and transferred to labour ward. I was never left alone. Even when my midwife went for her tea, another stayed with me. From 7 am onwards I was lucky enough to have a very experienced midwife and a student. They were a fantastic team and I trusted them 100 percent. In the end my daughter was delivered via forceps at 2 pm. This was painful but she was so worth it. My husband and I were kept informed throughout. I was determined to breastfeed and the nurses on the ward were amazing. No nonsense and straight to the point, they got my daughter latched on and I'm still feeding her 6 months later. I think that they do a very busy job and that it is easy to pick fault. I hope to have more children and I will most certainly be doing it at the PRMH if I'm lucky enough to have more..
