A review of Garnetbank Primary School by Elaine eaglesham written on Sunday 22nd of May 2011
I began my primary at garnetbank around 1951, I then lived in Renfrew St, around 2 or 3 years later I was followed home at lunchtime by a man who tried to get me to go with him, my dad at that time was a warden in barlinnie, luckily he drummed it into me not to go with strangers. I was fortunate in that he let me go, but i know a wee girl was murdered around this time and never found out if anyone was caught for her murder, maybe the same man who followed me. I left the area soon after that to live in the westend. Now in my sixties i live in Ayrshire, but when i hear the name garnetbank my mind goes back in time, i know i was happy at the school for the few years i was there..
